Egrell News...
2010: |
| New from Egrell Dezignz is the long awaited EB6, a 6’ high modulus Barra Rod featuring our personalised Alps aluminium trigger reel seat which has been tested and had design input done by Eric Grell personally for its release. As with all rodz from Egrell Dezignz, Alps 316 guides with Zircon rings are used on the entire range.
After building rodz for the industry for many years, it takes a lot to get Eric excited these days, but even he was amazed at the benefits gained during testing. “Casting distance is one thing, but when you achieve it with even less effort and more accuracy, that’s another” says Eric. To achieve this Eric redesigned the layup of the material in the blank and combined this with the unique Egrell shaped cork grip and new reel seat. This is easily noticed when holding this rod in hand ready to cast, the reel seat will position the hand in an even more comfortable position for making the cast, which instantly gives a great deal more control.
With the modulus rating of the material and the changing tapers throughout the blank, working a wide range of lures from small to large as well as soft plastics, becomes a task made easy and effective.
A useful tool is one that has the ability to generate feedback and this is what got Eric most excited. Although a blank with the use of braid generates good feedback, it is usually dulled by the time it reaches the hand. Using the Alps reel seat, aside from its ergonomic design and its stylish look, actually amplified this sensitivity and enhanced the feedback.
The end result is a fishing rod that is a true pleasure to use. With casting distance and accuracy increased, working all styles of lures as well as being able to feel everything that is happening, this rod can apply all the finesse necessary with a butt section powerful enough to turn the largest of fish when needed, making it a must have for any serious Barramundi Angler. |

2009: |
We are continually researching and developing to improve our product, which includes listening to the feedback of the Australian Angler and it has been made clear to us that the harsh Australian conditions required us to research into a more corrosion resistent material that still offered anglers a quality mid-priced product, and that is why 2009 will see the introduction of new guides for both the Egrell and The BeaR series of rodz.
Brand new on the market from ALPS, and tested by us to our satisfaction, these frames are made from quality 316 grade Stainless inserted with zircon rings, giving the rod a new overall level of advancement, while still having the same cutting edge performance uncompromised. |
